The Process of PDR. . .

PDR (Paintless Dent Removal... but we call it Pain-less Dent Repair) is the process of removing minor dings and dents from a vehicle's surface panels without the use of fillers, sanding, or painting. PDR is performed by placing specially designed tools under the damaged area and carefully masaging the metal until the dent is no longer noticeable. This process does not weaken the metal or harm the original paint when properly performed. See more photos.

Although PDR is relatively new, the process of reshaping damaged metal has been employed for decades. PDR is an art form that is difficult to master.

To perform PDR, you must have the ability to place the right tool in the correct place and apply the correct amount of pressure. Part of the right training is a basic understanding of metal and dents. PDR relies on visual reference, and Jon Fulk, of Pain-less Dent Repair, is trained and certified in lighting, reading the light, and applying the right tools and techniques.
